Kenneth Woods

Kenneth Maynard Woods died peacefully in the hospital on Nov. 17, 2018, in Chattanooga, Tenn. at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Margaret Woods, children Jan (Pete) Massengale and Bart (Ann) Woods, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and multiple siblings. He is preceded in death by his mother Ethel Roberts Woods, father William Woods, three siblings, and one child. Kenneth Woods was born on April 25, 1937, in Decatur, Tenn. He graduated from Meigs County High School in 1956. He proudly served in the United States Airforce and retired from the United States Post Office after many years of service. His children remember him as a kind, happy, and encouraging father. He was a devout Christian and a jack of all trades. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and discussing politics. A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, at Lane Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until ceremony at 2 p.m. held at the funeral home chapel; followed by a committal service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Pastor William Gamble will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Kenneth’s life.
