Walter Everhart

GARDENDALE — Howard Everhart went home to meet his Savior face to face. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Leslie Everhart; two children Emily Everhart and Christian Everhart; his father, Walter “Walt” Howard Everhart, Jr.; two sisters, Becky (James) Coleman and Tracy (Jeff) Bleil; nephew, Andy (Mary) Coleman; two nieces, Christy (Garrett) Rigsby and Kayla Bleil; mother-in law, Paulette Lynes; and a host of other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Brandon Everhart and his mother, Jennie Ruth Everhart. Howard was the Associate Minister of Worship at Gardendale First Baptist Church. He has been in worship ministry for 23 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He blessed everyone he knew with laughter which is always good medicine. His favorite scripture was Isaiah 40:31 Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. Visitation will be Saturday, Nov.ember 17, 2018, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Gardendale First Baptist Church North Campus. The funeral service will be Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, at 3 p.m. at the church. A graveside service will be Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Burks United Methodist Church for those who are unable to attend services in Gardendale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Howard’s memory to Angel Tree or the Blessing Tree at Gardendale First Baptist Church
