Amanda Colbaugh

DAYTON — Amanda Marie Colbaugh, 31, passed away during the early morning hours on Oct. 7, 2018. Amanda, as she was known by her family and friends, was born on Jan. 14, 1987, to Tom and Brenda Gravett Colbaugh and was their only daughter. She grew up in Dayton along with her brother Heath. She loved to play softball. At a very young age, she was a beautiful, intelligent child and was an avid reader. She was a 2005 graduate of Rhea County High School. In 2008 she became a mom to her prize award and only child Gabriel, who amazed her every day. Amanda loved her family and friends deeply and summed it up best with her last Facebook post by saying, “I have to just say I am truly blessed in spite of the negatives. I am so blessed and highly favored. My friends really showed me who they were yesterday and what they are about. I could not believe that many people actually love me. For me, it meant the world to me to have someone check on me or call me. I have finally gotten to be with my son. He is amazing; he blows my mind every day. He is so wonderful. I don’t deserve it. I’m so blessed. I got to take him to school this morning and it feels amazing. I am so grateful for the people in my life.” She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Thomas and Brenda Marie Gravett Colbaugh. She is survived by her son, Gabriel Sharp; brother, Heath Colbaugh; nephew, Gaten Colbaugh; aunts, Leta (Joe) Dyer and Sheryl Ann Colbaugh; uncles, Rob Colbaugh, Ted and Don Gravett, all of Dayton, Tenn., Lon (Shelby) Gravett, of Chattanooga, Tenn., and John Allen Gravett, of Dunlap, Tenn. She also leaves behind her many cousins and a multitude of friends who will forever feel the loss and emptiness of her absence. Service will be Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home. Family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, from noon to 3 p.m. Arrangements by Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home Inc., Dayton, TN 37321.
