Evelyn Dyer

Evelyn B. Dyer, 88, of Chattanooga, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 24, 2018. She was retired from Service Merchandise and a member of Tyner United Methodist Church. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Dyer Sr.; her parents, Joe and Colla Baker; and her sister, Sara Akridge. She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Allen, of Chattanooga; three sons, John E. Dyer Jr. and Darel (Susan) Dyer, both of Chattanooga, and Mark (Jean) Dyer, of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; grandchildren, Taylor (Eric) Summers and Will Allen, of Chattanooga, Rob (Courtney) Allen, of Nashville, Megan Dyer, of Denver, Colo., Baylan (Seth) Meganck, of Nashville, Lennon (Morgan) Dyer, Logan Meacham, and Alley Dyer, of Chattanooga; great-grandchildren Harper and Barrett Summers, of Chattanooga, and Bridge Meganck, of Nashville; sister, Betty (Bill) Greenleaf, of Kingston; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Dwight Kilbourne officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Monday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
