James Van Sayler

GAINESVILLE — James Van Sayler, 82, passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at his residence surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at his residence. Born on May 25, 1936, in Jasper, Tenn., he was the son of the late John R. and Bessie Crowe Sayler. Mr. Sayler was retired from Harris Calorific where he was a manufacturing engineer. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sayler was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Sayler and sister, Jenny Brazen. Mr. Sayler is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Sayler, of Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Vanessa and Scott Radcliffe, of Roswell, Kimberly and Bryan Croft, of Brunswick; daughter, Cynthia Hickey, of Gainesville; grandchildren, Trevor Radcliffe, Victoria Radcliffe, Jessica Hickey, Hannah Croft; two great-grandchildren; sister, Becky Huckabee, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; brother, Bill Sayler, of Jasper, Tenn.; special friends, Ann and Gwen Owensby, of South Pittsburg, Tenn., Glenda Weir, of Jackson, Tenn., Danny and Judy Lewis and a number of other relatives and friends.
