Thomas Dake
DECATUR — Thomas Franklin (T.F.) Dake, 83, off Decatur, passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at his residence.
A native and lifelong resident of Meigs County, he was the son of the late Noah and
Lona Monroe Dake and was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Henley Dake; three sisters, Ruby Hanshaw, Pauline Templeton, and Lillie Walker; one brother, Robert
Dake. He served in the U.S. Army and was an employee of Bowater Southern for 44
years. T.F. was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law,
Tommy and Lisa Dake of Ringgold, GA.
Two grandchildren: Mallory Dake and Kyle Smith One sister, Bertha Dake of Decatur
Three brothers and two sisters-in-law,
Jim (J.M.) and Carolyn Dake of Dayton
Lafayette and Helen Dake of Athens
Kenny Dake of Decatur
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the
Rev. Victor Abernathy and Rev. Herman Jordan officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m.
Tuesday in Walnut Grove Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Templeton, Tommy Templeton, David Templeton, Johnny
Dake, Terry Dake, and Phil Dake.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
