Bernard Freedman

Bernard Freedman, 88, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019, at a local hospital. He was the son of the late William and Esther Freedman and was preceded in death by his sister Ethel Reed and brother, Charles Freedman. Bernard was a retired US Air Force Major and served his country as an aviation navigator. Upon his retirement in the military he served 20 years as director for Caldsted Retirement Home. He was a member of Tyner United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Freedman, three children, Christy (Pat) Graham, of Whitwell, TN, Lori Parker, of Chattanooga, TN, Tami Freedman, of Rossville, GA, two grandchildren, Melissa (Andrew) Penland, Kara (Jitendra Singh) Chauhan, eight great-grandchildren, Haley, Savannah, Kayla, Skylar, Kristopher, Shannyn, Kenadie, Seyenna, and five siblings, Maryjane Clark, William Freedman, Bobby Freedman, Emily Issacson and Harry Freedman. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2019, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military rites being conducted. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at the funeral home.
