Lloyd Ridge

JASPER — At the end of the day on Saturday, March 9, 2019, Lloyd “Vernon” Ridge was called home by his Lord and Savior. Vernon was 77 years old and lived in Jasper, Tenn. He worked a machine welder at Combustion Engineer until his retirement. Vernon was of the Baptist faith and was a devoted member to Jasper First Baptist Church. Vernon enjoyed fishing, boating, Nascar Racing, drag racing, loved to travel, enjoyed eating and was a huge fan of all music. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Ridge and Lydia McClendon. Vernon will leave behind his lovely wife, Martha Mears Ridge; sons, Andy (Tonya) Ridge and Matthew Alan Ridge; granddaughters, Lindsey and Erica Ridge; sisters, Linda Elliott and Crickett (Jimmy) Garren; sister-in-law, Martha Ridge; sisters Vernon inherited through marriage, Doris White, Pauletta Caldwell, Jackie Jackson and Betty Perkins; along with nieces, Sheila, Kim, Deidra and Sarah. Honorary pallbearers will be the Disciple Sunday School Class of Jasper First Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be John Harris, Jeremiah James, Adam Griffith, Scott Hudson, Keith Nunley, Albert Mears, Jr., Austin Nunley and Kevin Jackson. Family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. CDT at Tate Funeral Home, Jasper, Tenn. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at 11 a.m. CDT in the chapel at Tate Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Steele officiating.
