NORCROSS Patricia Anne Sargent, 71, passed away in her home after a brief illness on Monday, Dec. 27, 2010.Pat was born on Sept. 11, 1939 in Chattanooga, where she graduated from Chattanooga High School. After marrying and moving to Atlanta, she worked at the Internal Revenue Service and Lockheed Georgia. She loved her family and God, and her favorite past time was writing.She was preceded in death by her mother, Nan S. Ray, of Chattanooga; father, Homer E. Ray, of Chattanooga; and brothers, William Ray, Charles Ray and Kenneth Ray, all of Crossville, Tenn., Ruben Ray, of Dayton, Ohio, and Robert Ray, of Chattanooga.Pat is survived by her husband, John W. Sargent; her son, Michael W. Sargent; her daughter, Elizabeth Sargent Opraseuth; and grandchildren, Jessica Opraseuth Rozier, Marcie Anne Opraseuth, Brittany Brianna Opraseuth; her sister, Nancy Hall; and her brother, Donald Ray, of Chickamauga, Ga.The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel in Norcross.Burial will follow at North Atlanta Memorial Park in Doraville.The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to The American Cancer Society, 6500 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth, GA 30097, 770-814-0123.Online condolences may be expressed at www.crowellbrothers.com.Arrangements by Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home, 5051 Peachtree Ind.
