LeBron Cummings

RINGGOLD LeBron Cummings, 71, died Monday, July 19, 2010, at his residence.He was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and was retired from Aladdin Mills. Mr. Cummings was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a choir director for several area churches and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Cummings was the founder of 1890's Day Jamboree Family Gospel Night. He was well known in the gospel music industry singing with several gospel music groups including Ring Masters, New Bethel Quartet, the Depot Trio and the Cummings Family. He was a founding member of the So-Journers Trio.He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Peggy Cummings; and a sister, Mary Evelyn McIntosh.Survivors are sons, Michael Cummings, David (Marlene) Cummings, all of Ringgold; daughter, Charlene Hubbard, Hermitage, Tenn.; brothers, Jackie Cummings, Tunnel Hill, Tommy Helton, Rock Spring, Ga.; sisters, Willie Ruth Ivey, Hammond, Ind., Rosa Gordy, Ringgold, Connie Davis, Tunnel Hill, Ga.; grandchildren, Sarah, Justin and Jordan Cummings, Ringgold, Richard Houston, Nashville, Dusty Chandler, Hermitage, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Austin and Maddux Cummings and Makela Cummings.Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Don Self officiating.The eulogy will be presented by Renzo Wiggins.
