Viola Goins

Viola Gertrude Goins, 85, of Tiftonia, went home to be with her Lord and loving husband Monday, July 19, 2010. She passed away in a local hospital surrounded by her loved ones.She grew up in Pikeville, Tenn. Before moving back to Chattanooga to start her family, she worked in Leary, Ohio, in the war plants assembling ammunitions. She also worked at Troxtal Bicycle Co. assembling bicycle seats.On Dec. 24, 1948 she married the love of her life and settled in Chattanooga, where she became the loving mother of children which became her passion in life.Viola was a member of the Revival Worship Center. She was a very devoted Christian. She loved helping others through feeding them and giving to them.She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, James W. Goins.Survivors include sons, Ralph (Diane), Edward (Janet), Arnold (Linda), Jimmy (Donna), and Benny (Kandy) Goins; daughters, Carolyn (Claude) Sims and Angela (Randy) Fields. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; two brothers, Ernest and John; and two sisters, Linda and Dorothy.Service will be in the chapel today, July 22, at noon. Graveside service to follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park (Duck Pond). Service will be officiated by Rev. William T. Goins accompanied by Rev. Brenda Woods.Arrangements under the direction of J.
