William Inkster

Sumner County William "Bill" A. Inkster died Thursday, July 29, 2010, in Hendersonville, Tenn., formerly of Chatanooga.Born Jan. 8, 1934 in Jackson, Miss. Preceded in death by parents, James and Elizabeth Inkster; brother, Jim Inkster.Survived by wife of 57 years, Carolyn Inkster; children, Michael (Gail) Inkster, Susan (Paul) Haines and Laura Lee (Pete) Frederick; grandchildren, Jessica and Olivia Inkster, Meredith Guelbert, Jacqueline Banks, Stephanie Larson, Austin and Walker Frederick; great-grandchildren, Alexzandria Larson and Christopher Banks; brother, Arthur (Jeannie) Inkster.Mr. Inkster graduated from Florida State University. He served in the U.S. Navy for 8 years. He was in the food service industry for 60 years, retiring from Baptist Hospital where he was the Food Service Director. He was awarded the Restauranteur of the year. He was a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church, National Restaurant Association, American Legion and the N.R.A. Bill was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.A celebration of his life will be held 4 p.m. today, July 31, 2010 at the Forest Lawn Chapel with Dr. Bruce Chesser officiating.Visitation will be one hour prior to service.Memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice.The interment will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at 12:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
