Alta Krieger

Alta Wooster Krieger, 93, of Signal Mountain, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010.Alta was a native of Ansonia, Conn. and was involved with The Daughters of the Nile and Eastern Star. She had an important role with her husband in the founding of Capital Associated Industries in Raleigh, N.C. in the early 60s. Alta remained in Raleigh until their retirement. She and her husband then moved to New Bern, N.C. and was very active in the Fairfield Harbor Community and New Bern Presbyterian Church. Alta was a very talented, fearless and creative individual. In 2004, she and her husband moved to Signal Mountain to be close to their family.She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, J. Franklin Krieger.Alta is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" Brines and a former son-in-law, Richard Brines; granddaughter, Hayley (Scott) Ogrowdowczyk; and a great-granddaughter, Brooke Elizabeth Ogrowdowczyk and great-grandson, Barrett Cale Ogrowdowczyk.A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Alexian Village Chapel with Minister Greg Nance officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House, 200 Central Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37403.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanooganorthchapel.com.Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist.
