Burl Hixson

Burl Hixson, 86, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, in a local hospital. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, he was a member of the Tyner Church of Christ and was retired from Grace Manufacturing. He was preceded by his first wife, Jewell Hixson. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie C. Hixson; daughter, Karen James (Randy Smith), Winchester, Tenn.; sister, Lois Matthews, Chattanooga; brother, Edwin Hixson, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Minister George Cupp officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday before the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
