IDER Charles Grady Smith Jr., 68, passed away Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010.He was a loving father and grandfather, loved reading, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Horton Smith; father, Charles G. Smith Sr.; brothers, Lanny F. Smith, Martin and Jessie Street, and Cheffey M. and Allie Smith Sr.; step-father, the Rev. J.R. Hawthorne.He is survived by his companion, Mary Han, of Ider, Ala.; mother, Eloise Smith Hawthorne; sisters, Colleen (William E.) Smith, of Vero Beach, Fla., Kay Brown, of Higdon, Ala.; step-chidren; nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. EST Monday in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Chris Guinn and Luke McKay officiating.Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.Visitation 1-9 p.m. today and 9-11 a.m. Monday.Arrangements by Moore Funeral Home, Trenton, Ga.
