John ("Hans" Johannes Walter Maria Dahlheim) Dale of Breslau, Germany, having lived the last 17 years of his life in Rossville, crossed the river of life from this earth on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010.The son of the late Walter Maria (Dahlheim) Dale, of Hanover, Germany, and Agnes Marie (Sonsalla) Dale, of Kattowicz, Poland.Brother to the late Joachim Dahlheim, of Hanover, Germany, Johanna Dahlheim Roesch, of Conyers, Ga.Survived by Jolanthe Dahlheim Weeks, of Tucson, Ariz., Claus Peter Dahlheim Dale, of Waynesville, Ohio and wife, Dawn Speckerman Dale; brother-in-law to Lake and Marilynn Sisson, Rossville; cousin to SM (Ret.) Ralph Slaughter, Jacksonville, N.C.,Ray and Anna Sue Stuart, Gastonia, N.C. Joe and Irva Maddox, Venice, Fla.; husband to Alyadean Sisson Dale of Rossville; father to George Walter Dale of Palatka, Fla. and daughter-in-law, Dianne Hayes Dale, Michael Steven Dale, of Orange Park., Fla. and daughter-in-law, Debra Anne Hicks Dale; Opa to Michael Steven Dale II and wife, Erin, of Elmira, N.Y., Michael Dale III, Lili Dale, Jonathan Charles Dale and wife, Katheryn, of Virginia Beach, Va., Madison Dale, Morgan Dale, Jennifer LeeAnne Dale Caudel and husband, Jeff, of Orange Park, Fla., Elizabeth Caudel, Charley Caudel, John Erich Dale and wife, Arin, of Orlando, Fla., Kyndall Dale, George Travis Dale and wife, Kelly, of Orlando, Fla., Kacy Dale, Lauren Megan Ashley Dale of Philadelphia, Pa.Having been born during turbulent times in Germany, John Dale experienced growing up in the Hitler Youth, while witnessing first hand the horror and humiliation of the Holocaust.Realizing the right path of freedom and justice for all the Dahlheim family made their way to the United States of America to live in and for a country that respects the rights of a democracy opposing a government of Socialism.John Dale served the country he loved as a: United States Marine (WWII European and Pacific theaters and the Korean War); Organization of Strategic Services operative WWII-Cold War; United Sates Army in the Ohio National Guard, Captain; Ohio Military Reserves, Colonel; Tennessee State Guard, Colonel; United States Service Command Lt. General; 32nd degree Mason (York Rite, Shriners and Scottish Rite); Marine Corp League; Veterans of Foreign Wars; American Legion; Lifetime member of the NRA; Member of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.John Dale retired as Chief Engineer of Gould Ocean Systems, and worked as a consultant to Westinghouse while advising many Naval bases and military installations around the United States.A few of John Dales accomplishments include member of the Wickliffe Auxilliary Police force. Civil Defense Director of North East Ohio 1965-68. Masters of Science Degree in Engineering. Senior Mechanical Research and Development Engineer, (Clevite/Gould/Westinghouse Group). Machining the capsule (Beryllium) for the first U.S. Satellite. Machined the isotope U-238 under top security. Machined Beryllium artillery shells for the first U.S. Nuclear try outs. Machined Thorium Rods for early Nuclear Reactors. Liaison Technical Project Engineer to the U.S. Navy Torpedo Fleets. Developed A-B Flushing stand for MK46 and MK48 Torpedoes. Developed and perfected the MK 46 Torpedo leak test stand. Developed and perfected the test stand for the ADCAP AND ALWT, (Advanced Capability Torpedo and Advanced Lightweight Torpedo). Corrected Slue-rate problem with the 20mm Cannon-Cobra Helicopter U.S. Army. Corrected Lexan Canopy problem for Personnel Carriers Chapparal U.S.. 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games Security Coordinator Army. Multiple U.S. Federal Patents awarded. Former member of Mission Glen Baptist Church. Accomplished Musician. Multi-Lingual.Although John Dale accomplished many things that many of us could only dream of, His main focus was to honor His vows to His Beloved Deanie "Until death do us part" which He did for 62 years (John 15:13). He loved to debate and discuss His faith with anyone willing to take on the challenge while always lifting up the name of His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
