Bert McDowell

Bert Allan McDowell, 55, of Hixson, TN passed away Sunday, September 5, 2010. He was a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Engineering and was employed with TVA for 30 years as an engineer. Bert was preceded in death by his father, Charles W. McDowell.Survivors include his wife, Sharon E. McDowell; two step-daughters, Tammie Metcalf of Rossville and Ashley Metcalf of Harrison; one step-grandson, Ashton Westmoreland of Rossville; mother, Dorothy E. McDowell of Birmingham, Ala.Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with Dr. C. Richard Mason officiating.Burial will be in Birmingham.Visitation for close friends and family will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center 4500 N.
