Vivian Jared

Vivian F. Jared, 81, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Monday, September 6, 2010, in a local hospital.She was preceded in death by her parents, William Clarence Fanning & Ermine Laten Fanning; brothers, Hollis Fanning and Lester Fanning; and sisters, Opal Fanning Tucker and Gemella Fanning Edwards.She was born in Fayetteville, Tenn. on July 6, 1929. Mrs. Jared was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church and a former member of St. Elmo Avenue Baptist Church. She was Valedictorian of the Class of 1983 from Chattanooga State at the age of 53.Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Claudie Ray; daughters, Carolyn Jared Clark and husband, Harris Clark of Charlotte, N.C., Jan Jared Hammontree and husband, Cecil Hammontree; grandsons, Eddie Clark of Charlotte, Casey Hammontree and wife, Jennifer Hammontree, Kenny Hammontree and wife, Lindsay Hammontree; great grandchildren, Lauren Hammontree, William Hammontree, Jackson Hammontree, Alex Hammontree and baby due in February.She is also survived by brothers-in-law and wives, Copeland and Jean Jared and Edward and Wanda Jared all of Cookeville, sister-in-law and husband, Mary Jared Price and Henry Price of Atlanta; nieces and nephew, Ann Evelius and husband Tommy of Towson, Md., Donna Kafka and husband John of Tallmadge, OH., and Darrell Fanning and wife, Sharon of Bakersfield, Calif.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Wilson of Silverdale Baptist Church officiating.Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
