Faye Davis

Faye Stanley Davis entered into her rest on Sept. 6, 2008, at her home in Evans, Ga.She was predeceased by her husband, Edward E. Davis, former District Attorney General of Hamilton County, Tenn.Faye was born on June 8, 1919 in Pleasant Hill, Cumberland County, Tenn. The eldest of three children, she attended Pleasant Hill Academy and later graduated from business school and worked for a few years as a secretary at Tennessee Valley Authority.She was also predeceased by her parents, William J. Stanley and Mae Stanley Campbell, of Crossville, Tenn., and by her two brothers, Thomas J. Stanley, of Crossville, Tenn., and Ernest M. Stanley, of San Antonio, Texas.Faye is survived by her two children, Stanley D. (Kathy Perkins) Davis, of Lawrence, Kan., and Lynda D. Sims, of Augusta, Ga., as well as two grandchildren, Lee F. Davis and James E. Davis, of Lawrence, Kan.The family will host a Memorial service at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010.Guests will be received at 11 a.m., followed by the service at noon.Prior to her death, Faye donated her body to the Medical College of Georgia. Following the Memorial Service, her remains will be buried in Hamilton Memorial Gardens next to her late husband.Arrangements are made by Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory & Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
