Joe Sparkman

Joe C. Sparkman, of Chattanooga, went to sleep in the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010.Joe was born in Van Buren County to the late Clifton and Ethel Miller Sparkman. He was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area. Joe served our country during the Korean War in the Army and retired from TVA after 43 years. He was of the Baptist faith.He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Eual, William and Robert Sparkman.Joe is survived by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn Dunlap Sparkman who was the love of his life; his special daughter, Susan Phillips; brother, Edward Sparkman; sister, Lois Cummings; one nephew and three nieces.The family will receive friends from 11 to 1 p.m. on Friday at the North Chapel.Services for Joe will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the North Chapel with Rev.
