BEERSHEBA SPRINGS Horace N. Knight, 83, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at his home.He was retired from Carrier Corporation and enjoyed logging with mules in his younger days.He was born on Aug. 6, 1928 to Albert and Bernice Miller Knight who preceded him in death along with his son, Horace Newton Knight Jr.; brother, Dennis Knight; sisters, Lucille Knight and Vernie Green.He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth King Knight; daughters, Nadine (Larry) Richardson, Deborah (Berry Hennessee) Williams, Marsha (Wendell) Smartt, Polly (Rickey) Whitman, Regina (Linsey) Stewart and Wanda (Michael) Whitman; sisters, Josephine Grimes and Georgia (David) Nunley; brother, Albert "Hooty" (Jean) Knight; sister-in-law, Georgia Knight; brother-in-law, Paul Green; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Brother Barry Whitaker and Brother Micah Roberts officiating with burial to follow in Hunerwadel Cemetery.Online condolences at laynefuneralhome.com.Visitation: 10 a.m.-10 p.m. today at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tenn.
