William Overby

Jr.HENAGAR William Alexander Overby Jr., 88, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at Memorial hospital.Mr. Overby was a WW II veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was retired from U.S. Pipe and Foundry and was a member of Nazarath Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by parents, William Alexander and Smaria Ann Lea Overby; wife, Jennie Bell Overby; several brothers and sisters.Survivors include, daughter, Patsy Overby, daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and D R Cornett; sons and daughters-in-law, Scottie and Sheila Overby, Tim and Shelia Overby, all of Henagar; grandchildren, Krista, Kandice, Spencer (Kelly), Shana and Karlie; great-grandson, Hensen.Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 31, from Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Graham officiating.Burial to follow in Green Haven Memorial Gardens with military honors.Family will receive friends from noon until service time.
