Clyde Mooney

BOONE, N.C. Master Sergeant Clyde David Mooney (U.S. Army Retired), 85, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 2, 2011, at Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation.Mr. Mooney was born June 15, 1925 in Chattanooga, a son of the late Howard D. and Louise Schubert Mooney. He was a retired Master Sergeant with the United States Army, serving 21 years, in World War II, Korean and Vietnam Wars.Mr. Mooney is survived by three daughters, Sheila Mooney and husband Chris Tallent, of Boone, Sandy Jean Hilton and husband, Richard, of Trinity, N.C., and Sherri Mooney, of Elk Park; one grandson, Richard D. Hilton and wife, Farrah, of Kernersville; one great-granddaughter, Emerie Victoria Hilton, of Kernersville; one brother, Bill Mooney and wife, Joyce, of Chattanooga, and thier daughter, Sandy, and her son, Zach; and one sister, Ruth Thomas and husband, Otis, of Patterson, N.J.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Hicks and Clarence Mooney.A memorial service for Master Sergeant Clyde David Mooney will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev.
