Jane Orten

Emma Jane Nelms Orten, 82, of Red Bank, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011.She was born on Nov. 11, 1928 in Red Bank to the late Thomas S. and Letha Elmore Nelms. Emma Jane retired from the office of G. Royal Neese Bankruptcy trustees office with over 30 years of service. She was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church and the Red Bank Eastern Star Dorcus Chapter.Mrs. Orten was also preceded in death by her five brothers, David, Thomas, William, Joseph and Charles Nelms; and son-in-law, Edward L. Carroll.She is survived by her husband, James Howard Orten; two daughters, Marsha Ann Orten and Cindy Orten Carroll; three grandchildren, Brad Carroll, Becky Carroll and Bonnie Carroll (Corey) Nelson; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Carroll; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the North Chapel.A Celebration of the Life of Mrs. Orten will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the North Chapel.Burial will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanooganorthchapel.comArrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist.
