Charles Levine

Charles Levine, 86, passed away Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, in a local hospital.He was a graduate of Rutgers University School of Business in Newark, N.J., cum laude and Beta Gamma Sigma; lifetime member of American Institute of C.P.As; officer of Chattanooga Jaycees, first Jewish President of Downtown Kiwanis Club, treasurer of Chattanooga Jewish Welfare Federation, and was a retired partner of Henderson, Hutcherson McCullough CPACharles was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served on the USS Queenfish as a radioman, was treasurer of the commission of the USS Tennessee a nuclear trident submarine, and was state commander of the USS Submarine Veterans of WW II. He was a member of Mizpah Congregation, and was the best father in the world.He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Miriam Litoff Levine; parents Louis and Ida Levine; brothers Jack Levine and Irving Levine.He is survived by his son, Robert Levine; daughter, Susan Dee LeVine and husband, Thomas Shepherd; granddaughters, Kelly Anne Brotman and Sarah Rebecca Levine.Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today at Mizpah Congregation Temple 923 McCallie Ave. with Rabbi Bill Tepper officiating.Burial will follow the service in Mizpah Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Mizpah Congregation.J.
