Euba Gillespie

FORT OGLETHORPE Euba B. Gillespie, 93, passed away Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at her home.She retired from the Y-12 Nuclear Energy Plant in Oak Ridge, Tenn., and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge and attended Lakeview First Baptist Church after moving to Fort Oglethorpe. Mrs. Gillespie was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary Aerie 2514 in Oak Ridge, serving over 50 years in the organization in a number of offices, to include Madam State President and held a dual membership in the FOE Ladies Auxiliary Aerie 945 in Chattanooga.She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond H. Gillespie; parents, Annie C. and Samuel B. Britton; daughter, Elizabeth Gillespie Reid; brother, Eulon B. Britton; sister, Eunice Britton Walker; grandson, Billy J. Howard Jr.; granddaughter, Connie Reid Turner; and son-in-law, Larry C. Buckels Sr.She is survived by her brother, Ellis Britton, of Waynesboro, Miss.; daughters, Barbara Howard and son-in-law, Bill, St. Augustine, Fla., Linda Buckels, Fort Oglethorpe; grandchildren, Ray and Kellis Bohlman, Tim Reid and Susan Murray, Donna Warren and husband, Richard, Sunshine Howard-Smith, Rick Howard, Marc Howard; "adopted" grandchildren, Ryan Cox and Jessica Valentine; great-grandchildren, Tim Reid II, Rachel Bohlman, Devvin Howard, Marc Howard Jr., Chad Howard, Amber Howard; great-great-grandchildren, Isabella Smith, Davis Smith and Kate Cheatham; a number of nieces and nephews and by loving and compassionate caregivers, Diane Goggins, Robin Collins, Connie Bates, Crystal Cook and Myrna Rooks.She was a wonderful lady, a loving Mom and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.Funeral services will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday the funeral home chapel with the Rev.
