Fred Miller

Fred L. Miller, 70, of Harrison, Tenn., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011. Mr. Miller was born and raised in Omaha, Neb. He was retired from the U. S. Coast Guard as a diesel mechanic where he proudly served for 22 years. After his retirement he worked at Erlanger Hospital and was an avid model builder with pieces of his work displayed in the Chattanooga area.He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Helen Miller and a sister.Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years, Sylvia M. Miller; daughters, Cheryl Fowlkes, of Orlando, Fla., Helen Windon, of Chattanooga, Viki Rice, of Chattanooga, and Suzy Morrow, of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Shanna, Danielle, Andy, and Colten; and two brothers and three sisters.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Service Organizations, Inc. (the USO), P.O. Box 96322, Washington, DC 20090-6322.Memorial Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Windon officiating.
