Gayle Hewitt

Gayle G. Hewitt, 70, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, in a local hospital.She attended UTC and the University of Chattanooga and was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She was a member of First Baptist Church Golden Gateway since 1971, where she was a member of the Builders Sunday School Class. She taught at Senter School for 12 years. She was a Navy wife for over 39 years. She volunteered at the National Medal of Honor Museum and Chattanooga Aquarium. She was a four time cancer survivor.She was preceded in death by her parents, J.A. and Dell Good.She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Billy L. Hewitt, Chattanooga, Tenn.; sons, David A. Hewitt, Durham, N.C., James A. Hewitt (Sara), Nashville, Tenn.; brother, Jack H. Good (Jessica); and two nieces, Kelly and Brooke.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Thomas Quisenberry and the Rev. Mary Jane Allen officiating.
