Veneta Haskins

Veneta Marilyn Yarbrough Haskins, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011.Mrs. Haskins was born on Aug. 25, 1930, to the late Porter and Alwayne Yarbrough. She was 80 years young. Those who knew Mrs. Haskins, know Veneta loved people and loved to talk. One of her previous jobs was managing a phone sales room for Olan Mills which was perfect for her. She lived over 25 years at Lakeshore on the Hill and made many friends there. She fought hard to live at the end, giving every ounce she had, until her body had to let her soul and spirit go.She was also preceded in death by her infant son, Terence William Haskins and recently her sister, Betty Jean Wilson.Veneta is survived by her two sons, Dennis Button Haskins IV and Timothy Harold Haskins.The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. on Monday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.Services for Veneta will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday at the North Chapel with Dr. Bill Owens officiating.Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
