Annie Gray

LaFAYETTE Annie Bell Williams Gray, 82, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011. She was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., to the late John Abe and Venice Williams, but had lived in the Center Post Community for most of her life. She was a member of Chamberlain Road Full Gospel Church in LaFayette, Ga., and was an Atlanta Braves fan. She also enjoyed canning, gardening and sewing and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be sadly missed by all that knew her. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sanford Newton Gray and daughter, Mary Alice Gray.Survivors include four daughters, Martha Ann Pippin, of Chickamauga, Ga., Sharon Simerley, of LaFayette, Ga., Tammy Teresa Slagle, of Chickamauga, Ga., and Cindy Lee Brock, of LaFayette, Ga.; six sons, Kenneth Alvin Gray, Roger Newton Gray, both of LaFayette, Ga., Stanley Miles Gray, of Trion, Larry Marshall Gray and Dennis Albert Gray, both of LaFayette, Ga., and Stacy Sanford Gray, of Summerville, Ga.; brother, John Elmer Williams; sister, Drucilla Whaley, both of LaFayette, Ga.; 24 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Mar. 1, 2011, in the LaFayette Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes with the Rev. Eugene "Smoky" Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattooga Baptist Church Cemetery.
