Dillard Hawkins

Dillard N. Hawkins Sr., 70, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, in a local hospital. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he was a military policeman. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Yvonne "Chip" Hawkins; son, Fernandos Hawkins Sr.; daughter, Normanda "Pebbles" Hawkins; a brother and sisters. Survivors include children, Dillard Hawkins Jr. (Janet Kelly), Alfred (Celina) Hawkins, Staff Sgt. Jermaine (Terra) Hawkins, Sheila Jordan, Dillard (Chiqualla) Hawkins III, Normanda Hawkins and Aisha Hawkins (Terence) Higgins; 20 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Hawkins; special nieces and nephews, Audrey (James) Reynolds, and Alfonzo (Lisa) Allen; brothers-in-law, Alfonzo (Judy) Simpson and Richard (Terrie) Simpson; sister-in-law, Linda (Jimmie) Allen; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday at noon in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The body will lie-in-state today at noon at the funeral home.
