Gladys Phillips

PALMER Gladys M. Phillips, 76, of the Barkers Cove Community, died Sunday morning, Feb. 27, 2011. She was born in Palmer on Jan. 14, 1935, to Frank and Edith Morton Layne who preceded her in death along with her first husband, Hugh Edward Nolan; husband, David Foster Phillips; grandson, John David Turner; sisters, Nora McGovern, Flora Partin and Pearl King; brothers, Eckerd, William and Coleman Layne. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Joey) Rollins; sons, Danny (Elizabeth) Layne, Bobby (Gail) Nunley and Bartley Nolan; sister, Edna (Buck) Layne; brother, Leonard (Troas) Layne; grandchildren, Tosha and Whitney Nolan, Dusty Turner, Danny Ray and Shasta Layne, Jessica Fults and Haley Nunley; step-grandchildren, Carrisa and Stefan Rollins and Bryant Shadrick. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Stacey Smith and Delbert Layne officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer City Cemetery.
