Maryellen Radabaugh

ROSSVILLE Maryellen Jenkins Radabaugh, 87, formerly of Danville, Ill., died on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at Memorial Hospital, in Chattanooga, Tenn.She was born in Chrisman, Ill., on Oct. 22, 1923, and graduated from Chrisman High School in 1941. She attended McCormick Business School in Chicago and worked for Lamson Brothers Grain Brokers in that city. She also worked for ANCAM, the Association of National Classified Advertising Managers in Danville and later sold real estate. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Chrisman and St. James United Methodist Church in Danville.She married Deane L. Radabaugh on Apr. 16, 1947, and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage prior to his death on Aug. 25, 2007. They especially savored a retirement period in Bradenton, Fla., where they combed the beaches for shells prior to returning to the Midwest to be near their children. Her parents, Maude and Arthur Jenkins, preceded her in death as did brothers, Robert, Walter, and Harry Jenkins; and sisters, Helen Friedlund, Eve Wheaton, Lois Juvinall, and Anne Baker.Survivors include her children, daughters, Cheryl (Skip) Matthews, of Rising Fawn, Ga., and Susie (Michael) Brady, of Floyds Knobs, Ind.; son, Casey (Lori) Radabaugh, of Westfield, Ind.; grandchildren, Bambara Timmerman, of Chickamauga, Ga., Ryan Brady, of Prescott, Ariz., Molly Brady, of Floyds Knobs, Dano and Sammy Radabaugh, of Westfield, Ind.; great-grandsons, Nathaniel Timmerman, of Chickamauga, Ga., and Brody Traughber, of Floyds Knobs. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Jessie Jenkins; and brother-in-law, Gordon Baker, both of Chrisman, Ill.; many nieces and nephews.Maryellen will be remembered for her love of laughter and her zest for life and for her fierce devotion to and love for her children and grandchildren.
