Maxine Thurman

Wilma Maxine Thurman, 67, of East Ridge, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011.She was born Aug. 17, 1943 in Roane Co., Tenn., the daughter of the late Carl and Effie Lewis Mitchell. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Leroy Mitchell, Clyde Mitchell and Buddy Mitchell; special friends, Frank and Geneva Helton.She enjoyed camping, sewing, painting and cooking.Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Tommy R. Thurman, of East Ridge; son, Randy Thurman, of Chattanooga; brothers, Carl Mitchell Jr., and Clifford Mitchell; sisters, Margaret Brannan, Janette Ratledge, and Pauline Powell; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Clifford Mitchell and Rev.
