RINGGOLD Burton Lavan Wilson, 92, departed this life Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011.He was born in Selma, Ala., to the late Mack and Bertha Wilson, and he was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Jewell Wilson; son, James Mack Wilson; daughter, Ouida Wilson; grandson, Adam Wilson; and several siblings.Burton retired from Cities Services Oil Refinery in Louisiana after 30 years of service, and attended Bible Missionary Church in Chattanooga.Survivors include his children, Jeanette Roe, of Longview, Texas, Roy Wilson, of McAlpin, Fla., Ruth Thompson, of Ringgold, Renee Turner, of Rock Spring; sister, Maurice Parrish, of Jackson, Ala.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Quitman Baptist Church in Quitman, La. Family will have viewing one hour prior to the service there. Interment will follow at Mount Temple Congregational Methodist Church in Quitman, La.Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
