CB Moore

PIKEVILLE C. B. Moore, 83, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011.He was born in Morgan County in 1927.C.B. was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. He was a member of the first Southern Baptist Church, where he was a member of the men's Sunday School Class. He served as Chief of Police for the city of Pikeville in the 1970s and 1980s and was retired from the Bledsoe County Ambulance Service. C.B. was an avid train collector for many years and always enjoyed running his trains for all his visitors. He was self-educated.He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Maggie Jernigan Moore; brothers, Charles and Robert Moore; sister, Helen Abel; great-grandson, Alexander Sutherland.C.B. is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth B. Moore, Pikeville; daughters, Patsy (Roy Joe) Angel, Pikeville, Teresa Mabry, Chattanooga, Myki (Larry) Frady, Pikeville; sons, Conrad (Brenda) Moore, Pikeville, Philip (Sandy) Moore, Chattanooga, Jimmy Moore, Athens; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother, Billy Paul (Barbara) Moore, Harriman; several nieces and nephews.Services will be at 11 a.m. CST Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Brother Albert Roberts officiating.Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.Visitation 4-9 p.m. CST today.Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com.Arrangements by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Highway 127 South, Pikeville, Tenn.
