Jean Halcomb

Jean Warren Halcomb, 84, currently of Charlotte, N.C., entered into her eternal rest at her residence on Monday, Jan. 17, 2011.Born in Lincoln County, Tenn., the youngest daughter of Peter and Ida Warren, where she resided until moving to Chattanooga, in 1967 with her beloved husband Clyde Halcomb. After Clyde passed away in 2006, Jean continued to live in Chattanooga until 2008 when she moved to Charlotte to be nearer her son Tony.She was preceded in death by her five brothers, Dee, Goodrich, Frank, Horace Lee and Charlie; and her sister, Lucille Warren Kelly.She is survived by her daughter, Pam Halcomb Hood and her husband, David, of Knoxville; her son, Tony Halcomb and wife, Anita, of Charlotte, N.C. She is blessed with two granddaughters, Niki Gray and Christie Halcomb; three step-grandchildren, Matthew Halcomb, Megan Hood and Erin Bradford along with two great-grandchildren, Alexis Tinsley and Gavin Bradford.Funeral services will be conducted by Higgins Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Tenn. at 11 a.m.Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, with the Rev. Billy Langford officiating.Burial will followed in Flintville Cemetery beside her husband, Clyde Halcomb.Visitation with the family will be at Higgins Funeral Home starting at 5 p.m. today, Jan. 19.In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Flintville Baptist Church in Flintville, Tenn.
