Morgan Howard

Morgan C. Howard Sr., 79, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at his home with his family at his side after a long illness.He was of the Church of God faith. He attended Soddy-Daisy High School and two years of College after entering the Air Force. He retired from the Strategic Air Command as a Master Sergeant after serving 20 years for his country from 1951-1971. He made monthly donations to help develop the USAF Memorial, his name is on it as a donor. He received an invitation but was unable to attend due to illness.He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Morgan Howard; parents, John and Cornelia Howard; brother, John C. Howard Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sara L. Howard; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Gail and Bob Gay, Diana and Kevin Ritchie; sons and daughters-in-law, Morgan C. Howard Jr., Dana and Teri Howard, all of Soddy-Daisy, and Alan and Jacqueline Howard, of Gallatin, Tenn.; brothers, Joe Howard, of Chattanooga, Connie M. Howard, of Soddy-Daisy; sister, Barbara Gentry, of Sale Creek; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.Funeral service will be noon Friday in the funeral home chapel with Estel Sanders and Chaplain Dewayne Renfro officiating.Interment will follow the service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with full military honors.Family will receive friends from 2-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga Chaplain Dewayne Renfo, Nurse Brandy Shipley, CNAs Shannon, Tammy Boston, Sharon Hobbs, social worker, Brenda Petrilli and bereavement councilors, we love you all for the loving care we received. Damascus Road Quartet for their special visit, it meant so much to him and our dear friends Rev.
