E Bruce

E. Bruce Hamilton, 75, of Chattanooga, died unexpectedly at his home Friday, Jan. 21, 2011. Mr. Hamilton was a very personable individual, and he knew an enormous number of people in the Chattanooga and Sequatchie Valley areas. Everyone who knew him considered him to be a wonderful and loving friend. He was a gifted pianist who played at many organization's gatherings and banquets, as well as for weddings and receptions. He served several years as pianist for New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sequatchie County where he was a member for many years. He was a member of Alhambra Shrine, Scottish Rite, New Hope Lodge #583, Eastern Star Chapter #340, he retired from American Manufacturing and worked 17 years as Deputy Court Clerk for Hamilton County General Sessions Court. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Gertrude Smith Hamilton and a sister, Norma Jane Hamilton. He graduated from Sequatchie County High School and played the piano for the Alumni Banquet for several years. Survivors include a sister, Alberta Sims ( Charlie) Raburn , Chattanooga; niece and nephew, Michael (Sherry) Sims, Shelbyville, Myrna Sims, Chattanooga; great-niece, and nephew, Blake (Beth) Sims, Allyson (James) Abbott; great-great nephews, Cole, Raine, Storm and Rivers Sims. Per Bruce's request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home, no flowers, and a very timely graveside service , so to fulfill his wishes there will a graveside service 2 p.m. CST today in Chapel Hill Cemetery with burial to follow, Brother Jonathan Richie will officiate.
