Ina Shelton

Ina S. Shelton, 74, of Graysville, Tenn., passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2011 at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer.A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and Hixson areas, she was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a 1954 graduate of City High School in Chattanooga. She retired from Provident Life and Accident Insurance Co. and also worked part time at Mitchell Shelton Construction Inc.She was preceded in death by her parents, Eunice and Charlie Smith; two brothers, Robert Smith and Edwin Smith; and daughter, Cheril S. Edwards.Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Thomas G. Shelton; daughter, Terry (Phil) DeLay; son, Mitchell Shelton; son-in-law, Kerry Edwards; grandchildren, Kristen and Jonathan DeLay, Mary Lynn Edwards and Cody Shelton.The family will receive friends 2 to 8 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the North Chapel.Services for Mrs. Shelton will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the North Chapel with the Rev.
