Norma Fields

Norma Fields, 73, departed this life Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at a local hospital. Mrs. Fields is a retired teacher from the Chattanooga City School system with 30 years of service and retired from City of Chattanooga Parks and Recreation department. She was also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., and the Tucker Baptist Choir.She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Fields; mother, Johnnie Mae Starr; grandmother, Sudella Sanders; four sisters and two brothers.The family of Norma Jean wish to thank all her caregivers great and small.She is survived by her son, Sean Fields; sisters, Marian DeVaughn Moon, Pauline Parks; sister-in-law, Myrtle DeVaughn; and by many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at The Greater Tucker Baptist Church. Interment: Highland Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today, and the family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m.; the Delta Sigma Theta Omega Omega ceremony begins at 5 p.m this evening at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
