Thomas Treadwell

RINGGOLD Thomas "Tom" Hugh Treadwell, 80, passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2011. He was born in Waynesboro, Tenn., moved to the North Georgia Area in 1956, and was of the United Methodist Faith. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from the Ringgold Telephone Company in 1991 after 30 plus years of employment. Tom's favorite saying "I have spent many a day viewing this world through the ears of a mule." Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy V. Brown Treadwell; parents, S.G. and Josie Treadwell; five sistersand one brother. He is survived by his daughter, Ginger Webster(Alan), of Ringgold; sons, Randy Treadwell (Chris), of Chattanooga, and Steve Treadwell, of Ringgold; sister, Dot Sainsbury, of N.H., and Sarah Current, of IA; six grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; dear friend, Shirley Black; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, in the funeral home chapel with Brother Don Self officiating. Interment will follow at Catoosa Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 23, 2011, and prior to the service Monday. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home-Wallis-Stewart Chapel.
