Harold Mavity

William Harold Mavity, 94, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2011.He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and was retired from Southern Railway with 40 years of service. Mr. Mavity was preceded in death by his wife, Amelda Mavity, three brothers, two sisters and a son of the late William Leonard and Muncie Eaves Mavity. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church.He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John Sr. and Jan Mavity, Chattanooga; grandchildren, John Mavity Jr., Chattanooga, Samantha McCutcheon and husband, Jay, great-granddaughter, Lily Amelda McCutcheon, all of Galitin, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. David King officiating.Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort to the family and view the memorial tribute.The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road.
