RINGGOLD Helen Joyce Hargraves Rapier, 77, passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at her residence.A lifelong resident of the North Georgia-Chattanooga area, she was a former employee of Parkridge hospital where she worked for over 22 years as an LPN and was a member of Ringgold First Baptist Church. Helen loved and enjoyed being around her family, especially her grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Rapier; parents, Ervin Boyd and Nellie Carroll Hargraves; sister, Mary Ann Vaughn; and brother, James Boyd Hargraves; two children, Cindy Vess, of Ringgold, Ga., and Tim Rapier of Rossville; two brothers, William E. "Gene" Hargraves, of Ringgold, Ga., and Richard E. Hargraves, of Pensacola, Fla.; beloved friend, Jeanette Gibson, of Rossville; three grandchildren, Angela (Jay) Daniel, Matthew (Angela) Vess and Jeremiah Vess; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley Vess, Kaylee Vess, Isaac Vess, Laney Daniel, Hailey Daniel, Hayden Daniel and Sarah Hall; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held noon Friday in the funeral home chapel with Brother Jim Jones and Brother Mike McRae officiating.Interment will follow at Rock Spring Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today, all day Thursday and Friday until funeral time at the funeral home.
