Terry Mitchell

William Terry Mitchell, affectionately known as "Butch" and "HogsHead", after a brave fight with lung cancer, Terry surrounded by his family was finally at peace on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011.The son of predeceased William Cleveland and Essie Mae Sprayberry Mitchell, he is survived by his wife and best friend of 47 years, Joyce Carroll (Wilson) Mitchell; son, William Gordon (Sun Ok); and daughters, Rebecca Goldman Morris, Misty Mitchell and Victoria Mitchell Hammond (Steve). He also is survived by his older brother, Billy Michael Mitchell (Peggy); his 11 grandchildren, Catherine, Elizabeth, Hannah Mitchell, Taylor and Chandler Goldman, Olivia and Lands Morris, William and Caroline Raine and Ina Marie and Gabriel Hammond; and many much loved nieces and nephews.He was born on Sept. 26, 1945, Jacksonville, Fla., where he was affectionately known as Butch. After years of traveling and working all over the country, Chattanooga being one of his fondest cities, he finally settled in North Augusta, S.C.He leaves friends and loved ones across the country.As per his wishes no memorial service will be held.
