Mike Higgins

Michael William "Mike" Higgins, 59, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011, in a local hospital. He was a resident of Soddy-Daisy for 25 years and a retired electrician from the I.B.E.W. Local #175 after many years of service. Mike was preceded in death by his father, George Higgins and his brother, Tommy Higgins.Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Julia Massey Higgins; sons, Josh Higgins, Ooltewah and Daniel Higgins, Morresville, N.C.; daughter, Sara Beth Higgins, Brooklyn, N.Y.; mother, Martha Higgins, Chattanooga; brother, Ricky Higgins, Apison; sister, Beverly Lewis, Hixson; grandchildren, Emily Feist and Amelia Kate Higgins; godchild, Sadie Hoy; along with several nieces and nephews.Services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Joe Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today, July 3, 2011, at the funeral home.
