Ruby Nichols

Ruby Elizabeth Nichols, 79, of Chattanooga, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 30, 2011.She was born in Dalton, Ga., and moved to Chattanooga in the late 1930s.She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Grady B. and Pauline Scealf; husbands, Johnny Jenkins and Walter Nichols; brothers, Tommy Scealf and Thomas Lewis Scealf; sisters, Agnes McCarroll and Flora Ruth Scealf.She is survived by her children, Grady (Debbie) Jenkins, Abbie (Don) Morgan, Cathy (Dennis) Brooks, Karen (Donnie) Kinser and Mike (Dora) Jenkins; sister, Bertha Ann Lowe; 19 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.She has left this world, but the love and her greatness will carry us to her some day.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, July 3, 2011, in the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Jenkins officiating.Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Garden.The family will receive friends up to the hour of service at the funeral home today.Arrangements are by Turner Funeral Home Inc., Highway 58 Chapel 622-3171.
