Bertha Williams

Bertha Mae Williams, 72, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Memorial Hospital.Bertha was born to the late Robert and Myrtis Williams. She was retired from the State Department of Tennessee where she worked for 32 years. She was also a member of Stanley United Methodist Church.She leaves behind to cherish her memory a beloved daughter, Myrissa Williams; siblings, Yvonne Jackson and Jerry Smith; aunts, Rosa Carter, of Tennessee and Katherine Benford, of Michigan; two nieces, Gwenetta and Natasha; nephew, Jeffery, all of Charleston, S.C.; cousins, Brecia (Fred) Maston; Howard (Brenda) Benford, Melvin (Deborah)Benford, of Tennessee and Louise Norman, of Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, April 1, 2011, at Stanley United Methodist Church.Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
