Fred Tate

ROSSVILLE Fred Duane Tate, 69, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011.He was a lifelong resident of North Georgia. Fred retired from Chattanooga Boiler and Tank in 1982 and continued his passion for Bass fishing.He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Dossie and Eula Pearl Tate; and two brothers, Andrew Jackson Tate and Bruce Hammond Tate.Fred is survived by his wife, of 36 years, Carol Tate; sons, F. Duane Tate Jr. of Rossville, Allen Douglas Tate, of Fort Oglethorpe, Michael Lynn Shaver Sr., of Ringgold, Rob J. Shaver, of Rossville, Chip Ray Shaver, of Rossville, Jason Charles Tate, of Rossville, and David Lee Tate, of Harrison; brother, Gary Lee Tate, of Fort Oglethorpe; 14 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2011 in the funeral home with a life celebration for Fred following the visitation.Arrangements by W.L.
