LaVerne Harden

LaVerne Fields "Baby Sista" Harden, 67, of Chattanooga, passed peacefully from her earthly life on Thursday, March 24, 2011, in NHC of Chattanooga.God called out to her, she answered, "Free me from all the distress of this tainted world. To my children and loved ones I am free."She was a licensed cosmetologist for 30 years and retired in 2005. She was of the Baptist faith. Her greatest joy in life was to gather with her family and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Fields; sister, LaFrieda Fields; brothers, Richard Fields Jr., Socrates Fields, Sim Hayes and Frank Hayes; and nephew, Nathaniel Carter Jr. Survivors include daughters, Vernita (Ronnie Sr.) Bradford and Nicole Fields both of Chattanooga; grandchildren, LaTosha Hosch, of Miami, Fla., Ronnie Bradford Jr., of Orlando, Fla., Terance Bradford, of Chattanooga; great-grandchildren, Keenan Snow, Kristine Hosch, Lauren Hosch, TaKariuna Bradford, Jacori and Stori Bradford; sister, Christine Wise, of Detroit, Mich.; stepbrother, Berchindle Foster, of Youngstown, Ohio; devoted nieces and nephews, Lemont and Renita Johnson, Gregory and Tiffany Douglas, Daniel and Sherri Hayes; devoted friends, Sylvia Covington, Carolyn Bumpass, Betty Bishop, Nora Baker, Althea Gillins, Jewel Sparks, Lavonia Rivers, Marvela Cox and many other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be at noon Friday in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Minister Terrence Jackson officiating.Burial: Forest Hills Cemetery. Family Hour: from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
